Southland Organics is looking for a motivated and talented Business Development Representative to join our growing team. The Business Development Representative is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities through both inbound and outbound calling activities. This position requires heavy outbound phone calling, qualification, consultative selling skills, and tight collaboration with the Account Executives to generate new opportunities. Core responsibilities also include prospecting, relationship development, and message delivery to set meeting appointments. The Business Development Representative will be expected to report on qualification and call activity and stay thoroughly informed on all products and the industry in general. The right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, thinks outside the box, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way phone conversations with prospects, and is highly self-motivated. They will also understand how to assess a company’s needs and cater the outreach to each prospect specifically. The ideal candidate has a history of bringing in new prospects, hitting quotas, and loves the challenges that come with outbound prospecting in a competitive market.

Sales Administration

  • Qualifying leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Contacting potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Presenting our company to potential clients
  • Appointment scheduling and preparation for Account Executives
  • Generating new leads with the intention of creating more sales/revenue
  • Moving solid leads through the marketing funnel, connecting them to a salesperson, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls
  • Following up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services
  • Collaborating with Account Executives to ensure our company's goals and targets are met
  • Performing regular follow-up calls or emails and facilitating communication with existing customers to both ensure their satisfaction and identify new potential needs
  • Using social selling techniques to attract and source leads
  • Ensuring successful follow-through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application

    Qualifications

    • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role
    • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
    • Track record of achieving sales quotas
    • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive)
    • Understanding of sales performance metrics
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
    • Promotes a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
    • Acts without being told what to do
    • Brings new ideas to the company
