Strengthen your Game Birds’ Natural Defenses
If you grow commercial quail, you face daily challenges that threaten bird health and fitness. It can be extremely discouraging when sick birds, filthy houses and pens and unappealing plumage persist no matter how much you disinfect, treat or supplement.
This is where Southland Organics comes in. Our products replenish your birds with living biology and organic acids. This leads to improved nutrient absorption, healthier game birds and higher profit.
Take it From Another Game Bird Farmer:
"within 5 days the mortality was decreasing"
The story begins with a few quail birds getting sick on the gamefarm in one pen. The sickness continued to progress until it was at 100% mortality. I treated the ground with many products, additives, supplements, antibiotics, and added more birds for a second time with the same result-- 100% mortality rate.
I used another claim to fame product with the same result! Now I was completely at a loss! Total losses were now greater than 3500 birds!
It was not until Dr. Chris Seabury (at Texas A&M) did some research and suggested that I call Southland Organics that I discovered a product called Litter Life.
In talking with the folks at Southland Organics (Allen Reynolds), I agreed to order the product and give it a try. What did I have to lose?
After the first application, within 5 days the mortality was decreasing and within 2 weeks it was down to 1% loss. I resprayed again 2 weeks and over the course of a month mortality was eradicated.
I was not only impressed with the product but also the ongoing customer support from Allen Reynolds at Southland Organics. He worked with me to not only solve the problem but to save my business as well. I also wish to thank Dr. Chris Seabury at Texas A&M, U of Arizona diagnostic lab, Univ. of Mississippi, Univ. of Georgia, Univ. of Arkansas, and San Diego State.
I will continue to use Litter Life from Southland Organics as long as both of us are in business. Again, thank you Allen Reynolds at Southland Organics for your product, time, and patience.
Sincerely, Dennis Brown—Brown's Gamebird Farm
Our Secret Ingredients
Our specially formulated poultry supplements use beneficial microbes, organic acids and carbon to boost nature’s defenses inside birds' guts and in the litter below their feet. This helps them fight off harmful bacteria that cause diseases like dermatitis, enteritis and so much more.
These ingredients also help boost birds' natural ability to absorb and process nutrients. This creates a healthier bird on every level—nutrition, production and environment.
Poultry production and poultry performance are greatly increased by live microorganisms. Our microbes are mostly Bacillus species, which are heartier than other poultry probiotics that only feature Lactobacillus acidophilus and other lactic acid-focused species.
Our products are specially formulated with live bacteria in a vegetative form that prove a positive influence on gut health and gut integrity. For a look at some of the indigenous beneficial bacteria (probiotics) and what they do, check out our blog on Big Ole Bird Ingredients.
Most people in commercial poultry production think of acidification of water when they hear “organic acids.” While organic acids do provide some acidifying effects, they also provide additional benefits to keep your flock healthy.
Fulvic acid is "wetter than water" and serves as a destroyer of biofilms. Our acids destroy the protective layer produced by the disease-causing organisms. This mechanism assists the birds’ natural barrier function for improved immune response.
The carbon baseline for our products binds harmful compounds and boosts gut integrity. This is similar to charcoal, which has been used for thousands of years to improve drinking water and for general detoxification purposes.
Activated carbon goes a level deeper by adsorbing longer chain hydrogen-rich molecules. The activated carbon in Hen Helper has shown to adsorb benzenes, chelate nutrients and bind metals.
