Raising healthy, productive poultry requires more than just good feed and clean water. Even with the best care, birds can miss out on key nutrients that are essential for their overall health and performance. That’s where vitamin supplements like Catalyst come in, helping to fill nutritional gaps and promote healthy blood pressure, healthy skin and strong, healthy bones. Catalyst includes a long list of essential vitamins and minerals to support the body both physically and emotionally, ensuring your flock receives comprehensive nutritional support.
Introduction to Poultry Health
Maintaining poultry health is the foundation of a thriving flock, and it all starts with a healthy immune system. When birds have a robust immune system, they are better equipped to resist disease and adapt to their environment, leading to improved overall health and productivity. Essential vitamins and minerals are key to supporting this immune function, but they can sometimes be lacking in standard poultry diets. By incorporating a high-quality vitamin supplement into your birds’ routine, you’re not just supporting their immune system, but also investing in their long-term health and vitality.
Types of Poultry and Their Needs
Every type of poultry has its own unique set of nutritional requirements, and understanding these needs is crucial for optimal health and wellness. Laying hens, for example, need extra calcium to support strong eggshells and consistent egg production, while broiler chickens benefit from nutrients that encourage rapid growth and muscle development. Vitamin supplements like Catalyst are designed to meet these diverse needs by providing a balanced blend of essential nutrients, including folic acid, vitamin D and ascorbic acid. These ingredients are vital for supporting endocrine health, aiding in the production of amino acids and maintaining a healthy nervous system. By choosing a supplement tailored to your specific flock, you can help ensure that every bird receives the support it needs for overall health, wellness and peak performance.
Vitamin Deficiency in Chickens
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies produce countless health problems for poultry, including higher mortality and issues with egg production and egg quality. After years of research with our poultry supplements, we have scientifically proven that Big Ole Bird vastly increases nutrient uptake, so we developed this quality poultry multivitamin to boost performance and well-being even more. Catalyst is packed with a specially formulated, poultry-specific combination of vitamins and minerals that maximize performance.
Poultry Diets and Vitamins
The majority of time and effort is spent on the poultry diet, where most of the emphasis is placed on feed. Often the levels of vitamins in the diet of a flock is directly related to the calculated feed allotment that is managed by the integrator or farmer. This plays an important role in optimizing a flock because birds are limited to naturally occurring vitamins from free-range activities.
Fat-Soluble Vitamins
With vitamins in poultry feed, the predominant focus is placed on fat-soluble vitamins. The fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K are stored for long periods of time. If there is not a balanced correlation with the water-soluble vitamins, then a higher risk of imbalance, poor performance and toxicity may occur.
When birds get a proper balance of fatty acids, amino acids, water-soluble vitamins and fat-soluble vitamins, then the immune system is greatly strengthened, and the immune response to diseases and other challenges is increased.
If you are seeking to increase the health of your broiler chickens, game birds, turkey or laying hens, then look no further. Catalyst is the performance boost you need!
The Importance of Vitamin A
Vitamin A is one of the most important nutrients for poultry, playing a vital role in maintaining overall health and wellness. It supports healthy vision, ensuring that birds can see clearly and navigate their environment safely. Vitamin A also helps to strengthen the immune system, making birds more resilient to illness, and promotes healthy skin, which is essential for feather quality and protection. In addition, vitamin A supports the health of vital organs like the liver and kidneys, helping to keep your flock in top condition. Without enough vitamin A, birds can experience a range of health issues, from poor growth to weakened immunity. By making sure your poultry receive adequate vitamin A, you’re providing essential support for their health, development and productivity.

Because of this, Catalyst is a great option to increase the health of your broiler chickens, game birds, turkey or laying hens!
Vitamin K3 helps birds’ bodies process calcium and Vitamin D. It also promotes blood health. You can give your birds heavy doses of calcium and Vitamin D in their diet, but without enough K3, their bodies simply don’t have what they need to use it. This would lead to poor shell quality, a drop in egg production, brittle bones and other health issues.
Birds that take Catalyst have better leg and bone development, plus healthier hearts, skin and blood. Folic acid is included in Catalyst to encourage feather growth and reproductive health and prevent poor feathering. Vitamin D3 improves shell quality and bone health. Biotin prevents dermatitis around the eyes and on the feet.
It's absolutely possible for chickens to experience a vitamin deficiency. Just like you and me, the best way to fix a lack of essential vitamins is through a vitamin supplement!
