Torched All Natural Weed Killer
Size2.5 Gallon Gallon
How To Mix
Shake well before use. Torched is made from natural ingredients and could clump in cold weather.
Dilute by 8–10 oz per gallon of water. Pour the diluted mixture into a sprayer, spray bottle or dilute through a hose end sprayer.
How to Apply
If you're using a hose end sprayer, set the sprayer nozzle to “spray” setting, and hold the nozzle 6 inches away from the area to be treated.
Cover the area and the entire plant with spray directly but not to the point of run-off.
Re-treat hard-to-kill weeds after five days if needed. Torched Weed Killer can be used to treat the ground to stunt weed growth and for further weed control and to prevent weeds. While Torched is natural product that is non-toxic, non-residual and safe for your soil, there is evidence that it stunts future growth for 20 days after application. We do not claim that the mixture works on roots and advise in general not to over drench the soil.
The solution is ideal to apply to garden weeds, perennial weeds, weed seeds and small weeds.
Protect desirable plants during application by shielding them with cardboard or plastic. If desirable plants are accidentally sprayed, immediately rinse the plants and surrounding area with large amounts of water.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are actively growing.
For best results, apply during a warm (above 60°F), sunny day.
Spray only when the air is calm to prevent drift to desirable weeds.
Re-treat if it rains within 24 hours of spraying.

At Southland Organics, we believe that nature offers us solutions to the problems it presents. This is the basis for the inclusion of essential oils in several of our products used by homeowners and farmers alike. Our products that have essential oils as “secret ingredients” are Torched All-Natural Weed Killer, Defender Natural Insecticide, SO Essentials Bug Spray and Desecticide Darkling Beetle Insecticide.
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts obtained via mechanical pressing or steam distillation of plant material. Each oil has unique physical and chemical properties that make them useful in a variety of products for human, animal and plant health. These properties can be anything from scent and color to solubility and polarity. For example, if you or I were to have a headache, rosemary or spearmint essential oil can provide some relief due to their anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Citronella is another example of a well-known and commonly utilized essential oil. Rather than curing headaches, citronella is a strong deterrent for flying insects such as mosquitos.
Essential oils are a powerful tool offered by nature to alleviate some common problems faced by home and farm owners alike. Here at Southland Organics, we choose to use those tools to our advantage to provide you with safe, natural, and effective solutions to the problems you face.
Southland Organics products contain proprietary blends of essential oils suited for their specific purpose. Torched All-Natural Weed Killer contains several oils selected due to their ability to damage the exterior of plant foliage. This begins to kill the plant and makes it possible for other ingredients to infiltrate and cause maximum damage.
I shook the product, mixed as instructed, sprayed in the morning when calm. I shook the sprayer several times . The temp was not quite 60, but it warmed into the high 80’s by afternoon. After 5 days with no rain there was NO difference in the weeds. I sprayed a variety of large and small weeds in gravel. Sprayed again under similar conditions but the afternoon temp was in the high 70’s. After 5 days of no rain the weeds including grasses remain unchanged. I can’t spray later in the day when it is warmer because the wind picks up. I will have to take the rest of the product to the hazardous waste dump. It has been a waste of my time and money. Perhaps it just isn’t suitable for my climate situation. Above 60 with no wind is a challenge here. I was so hopeful it would work.
Last year I used Torched for the toughest weeds and even a small thorn apple tree that I could not get rid of and everything died to the roots and never returned. This year I ordered a gallon from Arbico and a gallon from Southland due to my first order with Arbico being back ordered. I did not realize that both were made by Southland. However, I decided to take both orders when they were available. The first gallon from Arbico had the consistency of pudding, which I found very unusual. I read that the solution could thicken in cool temps but my garage was 85 degrees. I shook the bottle thoroughly and then proceeded to mix the 8-10 ounces with 1 gallon of water. I sprayed both grass and small weeds. It did not rain for 5 days and the weather was very dry and hot. When I inspected the areas I had treated, there was very little to no results. I then mixed up another gallon and this time I used 16 ounces to the gallon. Again, nothing happened. The second order came from Southland, so I decided to try this, as by now I knew something was really wrong with the first gallon I received from Arbico. I once again noticed that the solution was also very thick and creamy. Again, I shook the bottle, and then proceeded to mix an even stronger ratio with 1 gallon of water. I took my sprayer off of fine spray and actually drizzled the weeds until they were soaked. That was Tuesday, today is Saturday. Again, the weather has been hot and very dry. The weeds look a bit curled but certainly not dead and the violets are still looking green and healthy. When I spoke with a representative at Southland a few months ago about my order being delayed, she informed me that an ingredient necessary to complete the solution was almost impossible to obtain as it comes from China (of all places), and they were trying to find someone in the USA that could provide them with this ingredient. A few days later Arbico sent my first gallon and the next week I received the second one from Southland. I just assumed that the issue with the missing ingredient had been resolved and Torched was now the same quality as I had last year. Obviously, this is not the case. Now, I have spent $100 for weed killer that does not kill even the slightest, smallest weeds, not to mention $800 last fall to have my entire fence row cleared and mowed knowing that in the spring I could spray with Torched and everything would be kept clear throughout the summer for my horses. I am really more than disappointed with this situation and feel that whatever the problem was with the "missing ingredient" was not resolved at all. I also gave the same review on the Arbico website but no one ever even replied or contacted me about this. I guess the old weed killing recipe using Epsom Salts and vinegar will be my only choice this summer. It may not kill to the root but it at least kills what is on top of the ground.
Hi Leanne - we are very distraught about the situation with Torched. We know that we have had two bad batches and we continue to struggle with sourcing. The ingredients we were able to get the last few years worked well and that is what our formula was based upon. I do not know who told you that our ingredients come from China but that is SIMPLY NOT TRUE!! We do not source any ingredients from overseas. We only buy from US based companies. If one of their ingredients come from China we would have zero knowledge of that. I will address this in a staff meeting. We stand behind our products 100% and will provide you a refund. Torched will be resolved in the future and will be the great product that it once was. We are spending countless hours and resources to make sure of it.
